comprehensive and coordinated school-based chemical health system that
reflects best practices.
The Goals
Through
the effective use
of research-based prevention and early interventions, this initiative
will:

relapse after treatment

performance and school success
- Increase safety in
schools
- Improve partnership
between students, parents, school and community
- Reduce juvenile crime
- Increase youth access
to
chemical health service

initial interventions, case management and family support

connections to community chemical/mental health resources

from treatment back to the school setting

Staff
The
Chemical
Health
Prevention Specialist, through the Goodhue County Education District,
serves Cannon
Falls,
Goodhue, Red Wing, Kenyon-Wanamingo and Zumbrota-Mazeppa School Districts.
The
Chemical Health Prevention
Specialists works with schools to coordinate drug, alcohol
and tobacco prevention efforts, provide education and information on
substance use and abuse and will provide resources for services
available to students, staff, families and community members.
